The U.S. and Canadian stock exchanges share many holidays, with a few extra closed days for holidays in each country. Hours of operation and late trading availability also vary, although most stock exchanges in North America operate in Eastern Standard Time. U.S. Stock Market Holidays
NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ Early Closing DaysOn Friday, November 27, 2009, NASDAQ and the NYSE cease trading at 1:00pm EST. They also stop trading early on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2009, at 1:00pm EST. On the above-mentioned dates, AMEX will end trading for products normally traded until 4:00pm and 4:15pm EST at 1:00pm and 1:15pm, respectively.
