I sold 1/2 of my position yesterday (2/27). May buy it back if VRGY starts filling the gap -- or if Kirk calls a buy. It was a nice feeling to book some profit on a terrible day, since I also own FXI (Shanghai 25 index) which started this whole messy correction.

BTW - on MSN's investment website VLNC and GGR were both trading up over 6.5% in after hours trading. Hopefully those two have put in a bottom for the year although the after hours trades often don't hold up the next morning unless there is accompanying good news as there was for VRGY.

» PEIC - Verigy Leaps
NEW YORK (AP) -- Verigy Ltd. was among the few big gainers in Friday's premarket trading session after the chip-testing equipment maker said its sales momentum is accelerating.
Verigy, which is based in Singapore, posted sales of $183 million for the second quarter, down 5 percent from last year, but forecast sales to climb ahead of Wall Street estimates for the current period. The company booked $202 million in orders in the second quarter, a steep increase.

Verigy said its customers ordered more products and the company added new accounts. Much of the increase in orders came from one major customer, which Thomas Weisel Partners analyst Douglas G. Reid said he thinks is Advanced Micro Devices Inc.
Verigy makes equipment chip makers used to test their semiconductors. Reid said the second quarter demonstrated the success of the company's strategy to offer a single platform capable of testing a lot of different types of chips. Most other semiconductor testing companies offer different types of equipment to test different kinds of chips.
"Verigy again demonstrated continued traction in winning new customers on the strength of a scaleable and flexible tester platform," Reid said.
Shares of Verigy spiked $2.47, or 10 percent, to $27.10 in premarket electronic trading. Since the company's initial public offering in June, the shares have never traded higher than $27. The stock closed at $24.63 Thursday.

I picked up 200 more shares at $25.50 on your last call Kirk, in addition to the 200 shares I picked up at $15.46 on your first call. Great calls and well worth the price of admission.

Wow!!! Great call on VRGY last Friday Kirk. Not only did I buy 150sh on 5/18/07 when you said to add more on a modest pullback but then added another 150sh yesterday at $24.60 to double my total. Looks like VRGY is not a stock to be underweighted in. Given VRGY closed up $5 even today (up over 20%!!!) those two buys will cover the cost of your newsletter for the next 100 years. Now if CACS, VLNC, and GGR can turn it around maybe I can do +34% again this year on my "explore portfolio".

» hickfish - Gap to fill?
It has made a nice move back to around the 200 day MA, but what do you think is the likelyhood this gap may be filled in the short term?
Looks like a potential fat pitch, I am just wondering about whether it could get a little juicier.

In response to VRGY Steve's Bottom Buy??? posted by Kirk:.
Looks like it closed at $25.53. Should settle out at around 25% in one day. I would expect it to bounce around after a run like that.
Kirk, the most valuable thing I have learned from you and the whole group here at 101 is to be patient and disciplined. Not always easy but it can be very rewarding. ![]()
THANK YOU!!!
